what's inside

MAGNESIUM FROM THE DEAD SEA
The Dead Sea is known for its exceptionally mineral-rich waters. Its magnesium is at the heart of Rescue Balm+, bringing a time-honored mineral ritual into modern body care.

Shea Butter
Extracted from the nut of the African shea tree, shea butter has been used for generations to nourish and soften skin. Its naturally rich texture gives Rescue Balm+ its creamy, comforting feel.

Lavender
Valued for centuries in bathing and evening rituals, lavender is one of the most recognized botanicals associated with relaxation. Its soft herbal aroma brings a quiet, sensory element to every massage.
MINERALS MEET BOTANICALS. MASSAGE BECOMES RITUAL.
rescue balm+ Q&A
Everything you want to know about Rescue Balm+ — from Dead Sea magnesium and botanical ingredients to application, massage and everyday body-care rituals.
Magnesium appears throughout modern wellness in many forms, from bath salts and oral supplements to sprays and oils. For Rescue Balm+, we were interested in something different: bringing magnesium into a body-care ritual built around touch.
Rather than creating another magnesium spray or oil, we combined magnesium chloride with shea butter and botanical oils to create a rich, silky balm with enough glide for massage and a comfortable finish on the skin.
At PALO, we believe some of the most enduring wellness practices are also the simplest. Minerals, botanicals and touch have been part of body-care traditions for generations. Rescue Balm+ brings those elements together in one modern, uncomplicated ritual.
The Dead Sea has been associated with mineral bathing and body-care traditions for centuries. Its highly saline waters contain a distinctive concentration of mineral salts, including magnesium salts.
We chose Dead Sea-sourced magnesium chloride because its origin connects naturally to what Rescue Balm+ is about: returning to elemental ingredients and established body-care rituals rather than chasing the newest wellness trend.
The magnesium is not here so we can make promises about treating pain, correcting a deficiency or replacing an oral supplement. It is the mineral foundation of the formula — paired with massage, nourishing plant ingredients and daily body care.
Begin with a small amount and massage slowly into the skin. Rescue Balm+ was created particularly for areas where massage feels natural — legs, feet, shoulders and neck — although it can be used wherever you would normally use a body balm.
There is no complicated technique. Warm the balm between your hands, apply it to the skin and take a moment to work it in.
That simplicity is intentional. At PALO, we see massage not as another task to perform correctly, but as one of the oldest and most intuitive forms of body care: touch, pressure and a few quiet minutes of attention.
There is no single correct time. Rescue Balm+ was designed to fit naturally into everyday life.
Massage it into your legs and feet after a long day, use it on shoulders and neck after sitting or traveling, apply it after a shower, or make it part of an evening wind-down ritual.
Lavender gives the balm a soft botanical character that feels particularly appropriate at the end of the day, but Rescue Balm+ is not a sleep product. It is body care you can reach for whenever you want to slow down and spend a few minutes caring for the body.
Because Rescue Balm+ was never intended to be magnesium alone.
Shea butter, made from the kernels of the African shea tree, has a long history of use as a rich plant butter for conditioning and softening the skin. It gives the balm its creamy, cushiony texture.
Lavender is one of the world's most recognized aromatic botanicals and has a long history of use in bathing and evening rituals. Here, its soft herbal aroma adds a sensory dimension to massage.
Grapeseed and safflower oils, aloe and vitamin E complete the formula. Together, the ingredients turn what could have been a simple topical magnesium product into something more characteristic of PALO: a considered botanical body ritual.
Magnesium chloride can produce a temporary tingling or slightly prickling sensation for some people, particularly on sensitive or freshly shaved skin.
This does not mean that the product is “working better,” and more sensation is not the goal. Rescue Balm+ was formulated as a body-care product that should feel comfortable to use.
We recommend starting with a small amount and patch testing before first use. Avoid broken, freshly shaved or irritated skin, and discontinue use if irritation occurs.
No — and we think that distinction matters.
Magnesium is an essential mineral, but evidence that meaningful amounts of magnesium can be delivered systemically through intact skin remains limited. Rescue Balm+ therefore should not be considered a substitute for dietary magnesium or an oral magnesium supplement.
We chose magnesium for Rescue Balm+ as part of a topical mineral and massage ritual, not because we want to make claims the research cannot yet support.
For PALO, transparency is part of wellness too. We would rather tell you clearly what a product is designed to do than ask one ingredient to promise everything.
